Bewildered by the volume of food information on the Web? Here comes a Web site to the rescue. It's www.gourmetfile.com, an online guide that sifts through the reams of culinary info in e-space to pick the best food Web sites, blogs and vlogs, food writing, ingredient sources, classes and more.

The site's latest e-newsletter includes a link to a listing of the pesticide content of various types of produce to help buyers decide when to pay extra for organic; links to recipes and an equipment resource for canners; and a "Seasonal Recipe Roundup" offering inspiration for cooking with seasonal produce, from a nectarine and mascarpone tart with gingersnap crust (epicurious.com) to zucchini country bread lasagna (lidiasitaly.com).
